And the Summer Continues

We love the month of August at our house. "Why", you ask? Because that is the month Thanksgiving Point has their "Two Dollar Tuesdays." It is no secret that I'm an incredibly cheap person and so the only time the kids get to go out and experience these fun places is when they are cheap. We enjoyed our time at the farm and dinosaur museum…

and I might have even let Cayson have an ice cream cone. Here are a few pictures!

HOGLE ZOO

KSL had their summer work party at Hogle Zoo. Not only did they provide admission to the zoo, but they also provided unlimited train rides, carousel rides, and face painting. Cayson has yet to stop asking if we could go again. He LOVED it!

I love KSL! I love that Ryan works for KSL. Without this little side job of his we wouldn't be able to have half of the experiences that we have had.

MILLCREEK CANYON

We also spent an afternoon up at Millcreek Canyon. What a beautiful canyon! The water was bitter cold but both Dylan and Cayson enjoyed playing in it. (… and yes, they both ended up with colds the next day-I'm a terrible parent!)

Truthfully, this summer has been so hot that we have mostly just hung out inside and played, played, played!

Cayson can't get enough of cars, balls, games, bikes, and building towers.

Uncle Randy's cool helmet!

Cayson also can't get enough of his little brother! He is such a big helper! Every time Dylan starts to crawl towards the stairs or out the door Cayson will run over and tackle him- and by tackle I mean sit on him so he can't move. We are grateful that Dylan is still alive to tell about all his adventures that he and his big brother have!

Other updates:

Dylan went in for his 9 month checkup.

I wish I could say he put on lots of weight and we are good to go, but he didn't. He is now in the 5%. The doctor didn't seem too concerned, so I am trying not to be.

Stats:

Height: 28 1/8

Weight: 16.2

Head 17.2

Other Dylan updates:

He just had his second tooth poke through today.

He is nowhere near the sleeper that his brother is. Cayson still out sleeps Dylan on most days! He also isn't as active as Cayson. He is good just to lounge and hangout.

He is our little scooter and can get around anywhere… QUICKLY.

He is overall a happy little guy- always wearing a grin.

His first words:

Most little kids' first words are "Ma" and "Da". Not Dylan his first words were "Hi", followed by "Yay" (as he claps), followed by "Daddy". "Ma" finally came in fourth.

Cayson:

Cayson is the most friendly person you will meet. He will say "hi" to everyone that walks by. (I think that is where Dylan got it from)

The other day I caught him singing "Ba…Ba…Ba… Babara Ann…" and "So let's set the world on fire, we can burn brighter, than the sun…" I must sing those songs a lot!

The other day he was playing with his cousin and another little boy. He happened to be wearing a red shirt that day. Ryan watched as the two boys ran up the stairs with Cayson right behind chasing them. The boy says to the cousin, "run before the red devil gets us!" That is Cayson in a nutshell… he is our little devil!
